Framed in White @ FrenchBleuVintage

I would seriously love to go outside and take some lovely photos of the freshly budding Pear trees with their white blossoms. Or maybe I'll just catch the plump white geese paddling happily in the pond across the road from my house. Wait, there wasn't a pond there 2 days ago. Its been raining for 3 days straight here, and we have some great new ponds to explore on the next sunny day.... whenever that is.

I'm not goin' out there ~ instead here is the fetish of the week. White plaster baroque photo frames. I can't get enough of them in all shapes and sizes. Weird thing about it is ~ I never want to put photos in them. I save a few for myself, but mostly sell them at the shop. I wonder what everybody else puts in them...hhhmmm

Please swing by Faded Charm and check out the other White Wednesday Wonders.

A great big CONGRATS to Sandi from A Cottage Muse ~ she is the winner of the "Welcome Spring" banner. Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun ~ we'll do another soon.

Birds of a Feather ~~~

I just wanted to show everyone the absolutely dreamy towels made by Teresa Sheeley, that came in the post today por moi. I ordered them a few days ago from Jackie @ Dreams of France and when I checked the mailbox today..."POOF"! There they were. It really made my day. They are so nice. I ripped the bag open before I even got into the house. I'm sure most of you are guilty of that as well, we just can't wait to get our little fingers all over our new prizes. Segway to...I didn't want anyones "grubby little hands" (I have 3 small children) all over my amazing new towels (seriously, they would think nothing of smearing Dora the Explorer Pink toothpaste all over them). So, I spent the next hour walking around the house trying to find something else I can do with them.

My Nana's chair ( shown above, which I just love) has been somewhat pathetically upholstery challenged for years now....again, I will blame the three aforementioned small children. Not because they will get it dirty, but because I just don't have the time. "This bird tea towel would be perfect draped over it" says I ~ 2 seconds and voila~ new cool chair cover. What do you think?
Here's my question to all of you ~ What else can I do with the Ruffled White towels ~ I have 2 and of course can use them as towels, for company only of course. But rarely do I use something for its proper purpose. I know you all have fabulous taste and ideas about this kind of thing ~ so how 'bout it? What would you do?

A great big Thank You to Teresa Sheeley for her wonderful talent and to Jackie @ Dreams of France ~ I love my new towels. Can you tell?

Dreaming of May ~ Giveaway@FrenchBleuVintage

Spring is practically here, I know ~ but its not coming soon enough for me. I love May. Its the perfect month. Not too hot ~ not too cold. Flowers everywhere. First communions ~ The May Crowning ~ Mothers Day and.....My Birthday and Denises' too. And as if it couldn't get any better ~ The Brimfield Flea Market in Mass. starts. Nope, in my book, it doesn't get much better than May.

Even though I still have 6 weeks to go ~ I' m going to start celebrating, with a Spring Giveaway. What do you think of this fantastic "Welcome Spring" banner? Isn't it perfect. The embellished letters are made of cloth and it is approx 7ft long. Sorry the photo isn't so great ~ it was too big to get it all in there. Click the photo to enlarge it. Take my word for it, it is really nice.

So, here's the skinny if you want to score this pretty Spring banner for yourself:

If you are a follower, you are already entered, just leave me a comment saying you are a follower. For 2 chances, go on the FrenchBleuVintage.com store site (sidebar), and sign the guest book. For 3 chances ~ "Grab the FBV button" and mention the giveaway in your post (then let me know because I don't know how else I would know). A winner will be chosen on Tuesday March 30th!
I need to give a a few special "Thank you" shoutouts. First to Gina from "The Shabby Chic Cottage". She knows how blog design challenged I am and made my "grab my button" for me. Really, I would never have figured it out on my own. I tried, it wasn't good. So don't let Gina's efforts be in vain "grab the new button" and play the game.

Also ~ Taylor from www.enchanting-webdesigns.com just put in a new promo code option for my FBV shop customers ~(this is all very new and exciting to me) and to break it in I am giving $5.00 off of every purchase of $25 or more. Just enter this code at checkout: frenchbleu01.
And last but certainly not least to Kathleen at Faded Charm for hosting yet another wonderful White Wednesday ~ please hop on over and check out the other wonderful posts.
Well, that is a lot to digest. So I had better stop now. Please have fun with all this and if you have any questions? ~ email me (new email link at top of the page...i have been a busy blogger bee:)
Happy Saint Patricks Day ~ Slainte'

White Wednesday Trinkets@ FrenchBleuVintage

So its no secret that I love to fish out a great treasure and I have plenty of places that I scour on a regular basis. Besides my little local Flea Market that really never fails to amaze me with what I can dig up, there is a great consignment store literally a minutes ride from my house (this is dangerous).

I always find something there. I'm just thrilled no one else that lives in town likes this kind of stuff (really they don't). These are just a few of the items I picked up this month.

First are these really cool tall candle holders ~ layers of paint cake these babies. I could practically read the cashiers mind from the look on her face "eeeiiwww" (she was 17 years old if a day). Then this very cool ceramic trinket box from Belgium, isn't it yummy! Finally these bangles. I think the ivory colored one may be bakelite, not totally sure though. I like the other ones more because they look like mercury glass.

Please visit out hostess Kathleen over at Faded Charm to check out all the other Fab White Wednesday Posts ~ Happy White Wednesday everbody!!!

I almost forgot ~ I changed my blog look a little ~ Spring cleaning has filtered down to my blog ~ I hope you all like it.

Vintage Black Friday ~ Bijoux!!!

Since Flea~ing season has begun, I have been finding all kinds of really fun and unique vintage jewelry. I am just crazy about this necklace that was once a pretty big brooch. My busty friend here likes it too! Pins are getting hard and harder to find ~ but every now and then I manage a score. Found these about 2 weeks ago, under newspapers and broken tea cups in a box under the vendors table (really, did he think I couldn't sniff it out:) These sterling silver screw~post earrings are really nice ~ I just wish I knew what the black part is made out of....ideas???anyone....anyone...

Well, it IS Friday. Thats can only mean 1 thing for me ~ local flea is open today and I got a big pocket full of $1 bills. Well, I guess that could mean something else for some other kind of people, but for me ~ its the Flea. I'm off ~ have a great weekend. See ya on Silver Sunday with some newly procured goodies.

How do you say White Wednesday in French?

It doesn't really matter ~ I just liked it for the title. But if anyone does know, please be so kind...

A few more random shots from around the studio/craft room that almost wasn't. I have SO MUCH STUFF!! The guys from "American Pickers" should have me on their next show. Yes Denise, I did watch it last night and I'm hooked. Damn you History Channel!!!

These Initial Candle Tumblers are a big hit @ FBV. The Creamy Cashmere fragrance is so soft ~ just lovely. I don't know what my fixation is with these Elegant Baroque White photo frames is, but I keep finding more and have to have them. I don't know what I'll do when the last one sells. Finally, I don't know what this item actually is. I have used it in my bathroom, bedroom, and foyer. Its been 3 different colors, but the creamy white is the color thats staying. Please stop by our Host at Faded Charm and check out all the fantabulous White Wednesday Goodies.

One more thing ~ I'm joining Deborah in the Postcard Exchange over at The Fairfield House~please jump on over there and check it out. Yipes! I hope I did this right.
