Early New Years Sale@ FBV

What a week!!!! Its been a whirlwind ~ Im sure everyone feels the same. But I swear that I almost felt the calm today that usually comes after the Holidays. It felt pretty good:)

I had better do this now or not have any time for it later. I am having my little New Years Clearance SALE at French Bleu Vintage starting TODAY Sunday December 19th and ending on January 2nd.

I really did want to have a Christmas Sale - but my web designer (the person who really has to input all sale materials and code) is out of commissions for awhile  - so I waited but to no avail. Therefore I need to do this the old -fashioned way - which is and please read this carefully.....

If you want to place an order - please email me under comments through the FrenchBleuVintage.com webstore homepage. DO NOT USE THE CART SYSTEM!!!! You will not get the sale price if you do. Just email me your order (please send me your address and zip code as well) and I will take 20% off of your entire order. Then I will send you a Paypal invoice which will include your shipping cost.

Ooops almost forgot - While supplies last - any order over $100 (after 20% adjustment) will receive a free copy of Country Livings "Merry & Bright"  Holiday Book ~ compliments of FrenchBleuVintage.com.

A Very Blessed Christmas & Happy Healthy New Year to all ~

Silver Sunday Tresor Box

Take a look at this fantastic display box I found. I just adore it. I just got it a few days ago so its not been tweaked perfectly yet. But I was needing to take some photos of items for the shop so decided to put them in the case.  It is very generous in size and accommodates a ton of items ~ but I only had a few silver tresors I wanted to showcase.

These vintage cocktails forks came in their original box from Amsterdam ~ even my little crescent wrapped piggies will look elegant with these;)

This elegant swirled glass bottle is so pretty ~ I have no idea what it was used for, but the cap is sterling, so it must have been something pretty special. It almost looks like a flask.

Of course  at this time of year this mercury glass ornament is a must to show. I actually had found a dozen of these about 10 years ago at an Estate Sale. As usual though, after 3 kids, I only have about 6 left....when will I learn, "nice ornaments on the top of the tree".

I really need to do some polishing ~ I know the patina is great and all, but....something about the Holidays though, I want it all to sparkle and shine. Its raining like cats and dogs here in CT today ~ I think I just found another rainy day job.
Love this unusual caddy

This Victorian powder case music box still works

Vintagey Christmas

Im getting beary tired of all this decorating
Im still rummaging through old boxes ad picking and choosing what the style of decorating will be this Christmas. Nope - still not decided, although is evolving into a rather eclectic hodgepodge of old and well loved everyday items with a bit of my comfy Christmas items and a lot of nature. Lots of evergreens, holly  and the like.

Therefore, since my house looks like the victim of a natural disaster, I will once again show some awesome photos from The Country Livings holiday decor book ~ Merry & Bright. I know...broken record, but there are some very cool ideas (and yummy cookie recipes) in there.
Does this look dangerous to anyone else?
This is one idea I have stolen for my mantel
Even I can do this ~ simply gorgeous
Please slide on over to Faded Charm and check out the many fabulous White Wednesday posts

Loving Merry & Bright

Quick short post today about a book that I bought for French Bleu Vintage.com  last Holiday Season, but never got the chance to read. Well, I uncovered it again today and had a few undisturbed moments to peruse its lovely pages.  As far as I am concerned, this is one of the BEST holiday decorating book out there. Have you checked out "Country Living Merry & Bright 301 Festive Ideas for Celebrating Christmas"? If not, please do. There are some seriously fabulous photos to grab inspiration from. Just check out a few of these photos.
Isn't this super pretty?
How easy is this look to copy?

I don't even know what this is and I love it:)
Im just sorry that I didn't go through this book sooner ~ it may just get me out of my decorating slump. I wish I had more copies of it in the store, but I only have 2 left.  If anyone is interested, it is in the Seasonal department. Its late and time to go off and dream of sugar plums and mercury glass beaded garlands.

VBF ~ Holiday Inspiration

This Vintage Rosary is a perfect start for Holiday decorating
I know that the norm in Blogland is anything white: chippy white, creamy white, antiqued white, shabby white. I am now and always will be the exact opposite of anything normal ~ which is why Wednesday's  are not east for this gal. Therefore, I will always choose black. I was looking around my Maison de Vintage this morning trying to find a little inspiration. Everywhere i look ~ black accents. Hard to decorate for the Holidays with this much faded black ~ but I do try to make it work. It just takes me until after New Years:)

I mostly gravitate for metal accent pieces ~ trays, jewelry, candlesticks, frames, etc. So without further ado.....

This months Vintage Black Friday... now if I could only incorporate these into Vintage Christmas............

This may work around some pine greens and berries

Okay ~ I see where this candleabra may work
These tart tins actually make great ornaments or tealight holders

Okay, maybe Im not in as bad shape for Holiday decorating as I thought I was .   Thanks for hanging around while I think out loud.
