French Bleu Vintage GIVEAWAY

Between Naps on the Porch is a fabulous blog (as if most of you didn't know this already - but I'm a late bloomer with this bloggy thing). I absolutely get lost in Susan's "Movie House Tours" and "Historic Houses Tours" ~ Seriously I have had a blast going through the different pages. A few weeks ago, I found myself literally on Susan's blog (BNOTP) for close to an hour (of time I really did not have to spare but couldn't help myself).

When I was finished with all the gorgeousness of the homes featured, I noticed all of her followers. She really does this blog thing right. Then I noticed that shops can advertise with her. Well, says I, why not - I can't think of a better place for French Bleu Vintage.

I am SO glad I did!!!

Between Naps on the Porch is featuring a French Bleu Vintage $50 gift certificate Giveaway!

Please do yourselves a great big favor and pop on over to Susan's blog ~ Between Naps on the Porch. But hurry, it ends Tuesday August 2nd at the stroke of midnight  ~ how perfect:)

Good Luck ~

Busting at the seams

I need a bigger house! No, not really. I think the size of my home is just right for a family of 5 and numerous 4 legged creatures to roam. However, I wouldn't mind a nice cottage somewhere on the property to hoard all the items that I just cannot seem to part with.

One item in mention is this: I am in LOVE with this chippy white and rusty zinc-ish wall shelf. I found one, and debated selling it for a long time - but finally gave it up and put it in the shop - of course it sold within 2 hours:(  I vowed if I ever come across another...its mine forever.  Low and behold I just managed to get my hands on another. I was happier than a bird with a french fry (just had to throw that cute little saying in there:) but I was.

I went through all my books to get some ideas and walked around the house for the better part of a week and came to the sad decision that.....I didn't have one open spot available to put it. Its larger than it looks in the photos: 35"x 7"x 25" and darn heavy. So, it is with a very heavy heart that I give it up again.   If anyone has any creative ideas as to how I can keep this shelf without the use of another wall molly, I'm all ears.

But that little backyard cottage of my own is going on my wish list immediately.

Merci ~ Dee XO

French Chair Re-do

Why do I never take before photos? I was in no way ready to cart home these chairs from the Flea a few weeks ago. I didn't take my truck, had no place to store them, and they were not at all attractive in the state they were in. But the little voice kept whispering ..."go ahead, they have great bones". I told the sweet vendor that I really couldn't, "Not enough cash on me - husband will pitch a fit - no room at the inn" - all the usual excuses. But there I was 20 minutes later chug chug chuggin down Rt. 10 with, not one but two  big ol' ugly PINK and BLACK satin striped chairs hanging out my window.
But look at these babies now!!! Aren't they great? I just love them. So much so, that I don't think I can sell them. Even the hubby likes them (thank God).
And the moral of the story is ~ Always listen to your little voice (it usually knows best:).

Also - Please don't laugh, but I finally figured out how to set up a Facebook page for French Bleu Vintage. I think I did it right. Truth be known, I needed a lot of help from a Facebook guru pal of mine (Thanks Meredith). Check it out if you get the chance - I could really use the feedback. Just click on the FB badge to the left.

Have a great week ~ Dee XO

High Summer and a GIVEAWAY

Each Tote measures 19"h x 8"d x 18" w

Happy July all!!!
I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Holiday. A huge neighborhood fireworks display last night certainly topped off a festive long weekend for me. We had such fantastic weather here in Connecticut, it was one of the best.

Of all the items I was using the most these past several days, my huge shopping totes were pulling triple duty. They are great at the pools, for the beach, picnics, day trips, and yes, flea markets and shopping too. I use them everywhere and constantly, which made me think ~ I need to share the love of these very versatile bags.

Did I mention they are lightweight vinyl, so wet towels are no problem?

If you think you could use one of these miracle totes (and really, who couldn't?) heres all you have to do to snag yours for free. Become a follower of FrenchBleuVintage and join the French Bleu Vintage mailing list (blue box on top of the  page) - then simply leave a quick comment and let me know. Don't forget to leave a comment or I will have no way of knowing. I will pick one random winner, every day for a week and list the winners on next Tuesday's (July 12th)  post.  EZPZ right? And please spread the word, we only have another 8 weeks of beach weather to use these bags:)

Have a great (short) week, kick back and enjoy the ride ~
