Holiday inspiration by JdL

I am LOVING the Holiday issue of Jeanne d'Arc Living. If you haven't ordered a copy yet ~ give yourself an early gift. You will not be dissappointed. I ordered mine from the lovely Carole, from Maynard Greenhouse (thank you thank you thank you Carole).
I just love these little belljar vignettes
I really would love to implement many of the ideas in the magazine in my home for this quickly approaching Holiday Season. And the beauty of it is, you can start doing it today, little by little. Not all in one mad pathetic rush 6 hours after you eat your Thanksgiving turkey. Its not all red and green that you want to rip down the day after Christmas either. Once you see the photos, you'll understand why. Its clean , lots of white of course, natural woods and pines, worn in, homey, divine. Everything that the Holidays should be.
sorry - can't figure out how to make landscape - duh
I've been a bit under the weather since my stint in the cemetary on Halloween, but I tell ya, as soon as I kick this bug, I am off like a prom dress to try and bring some of those aweome pages into my home. I gathered some items from FrenchBleuVintage.com and am taking some baby steps already.

Linking this week with Debra @ Common Ground for Vintage Inspiration Friday...andShow & Tell Friday at My Romantic Home............and

  2. You've got it down girl! The look really is easy to work with and live with. With just a few changes I think most people can accomplish it.
I've been thinking of you going on your trip....hope it was all you expected....and didn't get too scared!

Thanks so much for the mention!!

  6. Sounds like I might need to order that magazine. Definitely from Carole. she's a sweetie! I am planning on doing my living room in all white this Christmas, so could probably use the inspiration.

  7. Yummy ideas Dee. Love that magazine. It's so inspirational. I still have my last one that is in all swedish but that's okay. You don't have to read the captions. The fabulous pictures speak for themselves. I am going to treat myself, like you suggested and go order the Christmas one. :) xoxo

  10. Oh so beautiful Dee!! I love the idea of slowly changing your home over to a Christmas holiday theme, like the leaves change for fall.
Your right!! There's always so much pressure to get the seasonal decorations out the day after Thanksgiving & then you barely enjoy doing it cuz it's such a rush. I am going to take the same appoarch as you & start this weekend putting up the more neutral items.
    Thank you friend,
    Susie

  11. Dee,

I received the beautiful silver heart tree and am as pleased with it as I've been with all my purchases from French Bleu Vintage!

I have decided to do as you suggest and treat myself to this issue since I adore vintage, silver and mercury glass. Hopefully I will find some inspiration to remove the Halloween crows off my mantle!

    Your Friend,
    Deborah

  12. I keep thinking I need to order this magazine...but just haven't. But I too love mercury glass and use it a lot at Christmas. I have to say...I haven't been by your blog in awhile and you have me hooked with your comment "since my stint in the cemetery on Halloween". I have to know what that is all about and will search your old posts.
