Can't get enough Crowns
Its true. I just love this family of Crown serving pieces. I usually always have a few of the items in stock at the shop. I just recently picked up a bunch of the serving platters, and just in time for entertaining too.
I also wanted to share a fabulous recipe that I tried from this months issue of Country Living. Im sure many of you have read it and thought it sounded a bit odd ~ but I'm here to tell you, try it. Its quick (only 15 minutes), easy and wicked good;)
FIGS WITH WALNUTS AND GORGONZOLA
Makes 24 servings - takes 15 minutes
12 fresh Black Mission or Brown Turkey figs, halved lengthwise
3.5 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
.5 teaspoon salt
8 ounces Gorgonzola dolce (or other mild bleu cheese) room temp.
12 walnut halves - toasted and halved
1. Preheat over to 350. Place fig halves sliced side up on a baking sheet. Using your finger make a depression in the center of each. Place 2 to 3 drops of vinegar in each depression and sprinkle figs with salt if desired.
2. Fill each fig with a dollop of cheese and top with a walnut peice. Bake until cheese melt and is bubbly, about 5 minutes -
BON APPETIT
And you know what...I'll be serving them on my own crown platter this Thursday.
Have a very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving everyone ~
