Lazy Silver Sunday #5~~~

I am so glad we're continuing this party. Thanks Beth! Please visit Beth and all the other fabulous Silver Sunday posts over at Gypsy Fish. This week I am simply featuring some lovely vintage pieces from around the house and my shop. Does anyone know what the item is in the 3rd photo down? I sold it in my shop last week and the buyer didn't know either~but she loved it enough to give it a new home anyway. I thought probably some sort of vase as it has an inner glass tube. But why not just the mercury glass vase? Why an inner glass tube? I would be thrilled if someone could shed some light on its origin. I've been nursing a nasty headcold the better part of a week and can't seem to gather the steam (or clarity) to go out and muster up something utterly amazing this week. But I still think they're pretty nice, plus I couldn't bear missing a week. Enjoy~

  12. Love your Silver Treasures ~ the Birds are so Sweet.... I think the Vase has the inner lining to Protect the Mercury Glass, you know how if you leave flowers in too long, the water can get yucky & leave a film.... I think this protects it~ but then again, I may not know what I'm talking about...
    have a great week
