I'm ready for my close~up

Last week I received an email that struck terror in my heart. It wasn't bad ~ thank the Lord. Nope ~ quite the opposite. It was from Tina, over at Stampington Magazine. She asked if I would be interested in sending over some photos of my work space for possible editorial consideration in the publication, "Where Women Create"? Yipes! I'm sorry, what did you say? I passed out.

I have the first issue of "Where Women Create" in hardback publication. I loved it immediately. It was a Christmas gift to my bestest friend, Denise@"Life is Yummy" that year. I know both our hearts skipped more than a few beats turning those fabulous glossy pages. Full of talented women, and where they practice their craft of turning the everyday into something glittery and magical.

Okay, so shortly after the initial shock wore off and I snapped back into reality. I finished reading the email. "Please send a few photos of your studio". Huh, That may not be so easy. You see, like many of you, my studio is in my head. As well as, in the guest room closet, dining room table, garage and much to my husband dismay even in my Tahoe. Worse than that~the majority of my spaces scream organized chaos. I was all ready to shoot off the "I am truly honored and thank you SO much, but" email. Luckily, I have Denise, (have I ever mention her:) who screamed at me (I heard it all the way from Montana) "Are you crazy, ORGANIZE THAT ROOM!" So I did ~ I don't think it came out that bad either. Where I don't know if it will ever see the pages of "WWC" I am so happy that Tina contacted me. It really is an honor just to be considered. I don't know how much longer it will stay this way but at least, for now I have a perfectly lovely, bright and organized space to work (and dream big) in.

  1. Oh what an honor and such a wonderful compliment to your fabulous creativity. You room looks amazing. I love it. Hugs, Marty

  2. Wowwwwwwwwwwwwww!!! What an HONOR!!! That is sooooooooooooooo AWESOME!!! CONGRATS! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

  3. Dee-it looks so pretty! Don't worry-everything is going to be great. You have a beautiful, creative home and a fabulous style. I am so happy that someone has recognized it and will be able to share it with other "crazies" like us!!

  4. OK - So I guess Easter's not at your house this year. There is no space on the table for the Butter Lamb! We could put a crown on it - or Gretchen's face. She'll be in Texas this year for the final four so no hurt feelings :)! OH wait! Gretchen always brought the Butter Lamb. Oh well - Easter is officially cancelled!

  5. I would have past out cold. What an honor. The room looks great and very organized and I even spied a couple of things I have too....the ceramic balls with letters and the cavellini

    fingers crossed!!!

  6. I'd love to exchage a postcard with you. Please email me with your info and we'll get you one from Oklahoma.

  7. That is SO awesome!! I have often thought of that, 'what if they wanted a photo of my studio'?? I paint primarily in our extra/guest's pretty much a somewhat organized disaster area, but heck I know where everything is and it works for me...but yeah I'd have to do the same thing if that ever happened for sure! You go girl!
    On another note:

I wanted to let you know I have 2 more issues of Flea Market Style that I am giving away on my blog:
