Tempus Fugit~ Silver Sunday #3 ~
Please visit our Host for this 3rd Silver Sunday ~ Beth over at Gypsy Fish and check out all her Silver Goodness.
Has it really been 7 days since my first Silver Sunday? Time is flying by lately. Which is probably exactly what my silver pieces would be saying if they could, in fact, speak. I have a few items that have been around since at least the 1800's, I'm sure. The small bowl pictured, was found at the bottom of a dirt floor in an outhouse in my old backyard about 25 years ago. I was an amateur archaeologist then. Our family house was about 250 years old and we were always finding super old stuff. I was so crazy about un-earthing lost treasures that I dug out and pulled a brick out of the huge fireplace because I was sure that there was a secret room behind it. And guess what - there was!!! Legend has it there is a door in the floor of that room that leads to a tunnel which would take you 100 yards to the barn. Possibly part of the underground railroad. Never really found out ~ it was too unstable and dangerous to pursue plus the house was too haunted for me (my family didn't mind it though) and I moved out on my own. Thus forgetting about the secrets. Thankfully, I never lost my taste for the old and tarnished.
