Make room for more "Stuff" @ FBVintage

I'm in trouble. I'm 44 years old and STILL getting in "Trouble". My husband doesn't ask for that much. But what he asks for, I'm still not really willing to give. "Please, Dee, stop bringing home "stuff". We have no more room. "But, its my business" says I ~ its what I do. I find it, buy it, clean it, paint it, fix it, whatever ~ then sell it. I don't mention that I love it ~ it calls to me ~ practically jumps out of some forgotten cardboard box under a dusty table at a FleaMarket and into my open arms. He would call the men in the padded truck for sure if he knew. I am so jealous of you lucky ladies who have those fantastic "partners in Flea Market crime" for husbands. Mine just doesn't "get it". I know everyone reading this blog "gets it" and I wish you could explain it to him. I'm sure you would do a much better job at it than I do. I just shrug my shoulders and say..."sorry, but isn't it great!!!!" These lovely crates ~ he saw as "junk" and not the good kind, (spelled "Junque" BTW) how could he not see a perfectly lovely unique wine rack. Pottery Barn would sell this for $250!!

Oh well, enough ranting. Thanks for letting me vent. I picked up a bunch of these white enamel tubs and a few more crates ~ which much to my husbands glee ~ will be available at FrenchbleuVintage by this weekend.

Thanks to Kathleen for hosting another fun White Wednesday over at Faded Charm ~ Check it out. Its so much cheaper than therapy or a good marriage counselor :)

  2. Hi Dee,

Your old double handled metal wash bowl is super! I can see it overflowing with glass balls at Christmas, papier mache eggs at Easter, and mini gourds, pinecones and pumpkins for autumn - what a great, useful piece!

  3. I new it, we are alike. My husband is the same. What I've had to do is make a habbit of moving. 22 Times in 39 years! I clean out stuff and start over, each time getting a bigger house. I now have 4000 sq ft and we're now empty nesters. So all the rooms are mine and one is my cute hubby's.

    Big hugs

  4. Hello Dee,
I just found your blog and loved this post. I have way too much stuff and do not sell anything...yet. I do have two houses which helps hide it from the hubs...I confuse him by moving stuff around a lot.

  10. Oh Dee, I Loved your post, I know the feeling of "Stuff" taking over, but I wouldn't have it any other way..... I hope & Pray that someday, I will have a man in My life that can be my flea market, Junking Mate~ I have been divorced for almost 13 years & that special someone still hasn't come my way, so on My Own, I will continue (even if I have to ground myself to the mess once in a while...)

  14. Hi Dee, I hope you find more animal paintings. I try too find them for a good price but they go quick! And all your treasures look great. There is always someone in the relationship that has a opinion about something. That is just the way it is I guess. Have a good day and Thank's for dropping by...Julian

  18. Hi Dee...Thanks for checking out our blog.....and I guess I am a "lucky junker" as my husband helps me with my furniture, BUT with a few choice words here and there if ya know what I mean.......especially when there is only a realllllllll small path to get through our garage after I bring home all of my goodies!!! He is still trying to get it, but I had to draw the line when he kept finding these old 50's panther t.v. lamps and dragging them home thinking I could do something with them! Needless to say, I did something with them alright.....sold them in a garage sale and NEVER looked back!!! Happy Junkin .....Cathy of Girls Gone Junkin

  19. LOL...Mine doesn't get it either but lately he has been going along with me on my treasure hunts. Not sure what's up with that. But he does indulge me and lets me do what I want and gets a kick out of it when I find something fabulous.

  21. My husband is the same way. And the bad thing is I don't sell my stuff so it keeps piling up! I keep saying I am going to go through it but I never do!

  22. Hahaha, I could have written this post. My hubby does not get it. I have stuff so why do I get more stuff???? "We want things to go out of not into our house"! But, it IS my business and is sooooo fun!
