What's your Favorite Color?

Honestly, I never thought I had one. I like all colors, just not a lot of it. I could never be comfortable sleeping in a pink bedroom or watching tv on a lime green velvet sofa (I have actually tried this and honestly, it just felt wrong).  But I think that after all these years, I have come to the realization that my favorite color is blue.

I know I know, most 3 year olds can tell you that. But after countless weekends of scouring through soggy cardboard boxes and under dusty tables looking for treasure, its not the white Mccoy vase or brown transferware platter that makes my heart beat faster. Its the bleu enamel ware trivet or cobalt blue leather poetry books.

I finally came to this revelation this weekend. I looked in the back of my truck after an unusually great trip to the Flea, and everything was...yup, you guessed it, blue.

The only thing I can't figure out is why I have nothing blue in my house. Im not all that comfortable living with it as a paint color or a counter top or even simple curtains. Just a touch or POP of that gorgeous shade here or there is enough for me.

I guess its a love/hate thing. Have any of you felt this way about a color?

Have a great week everyone ~ Dee XO

  3. Funny you say that Dee because I feel the same way about blue. I am trying to bring it back into my home but just in little bits. I do love green though. Actually I like all colors, who am I kidding....but green is at the top;)

  4. Favorite color for me has always been purple.
I had it in my home years ago but realized I should stick to just wearing it!

  5. I am a pink person. Pink and red. I don't decorate with those colors (would never subject my husband to a pink bedroom, altho' he's so sweet, he wouldn't mind) but I think it would be a bit overpowering. Still, I can't resist pink accessories, like my cell phone, my dvd player, hair and tooth brushes and small things around our home. Red is usually reserved for my cars, altho' I get more of a burgundy red, not a fire engine in your face red. I do love the way white looks in all the magazine shots of other folks' rooms, but having had white walls for a few years, I know that a totally white decor theme wouldn't be me. I like color too much and tend to lean towards sage, pale yellow and warm colors for decorating. I guess I have a lot to say about color LOL! Recently I revamped a bunch of dining room chairs for a client of the shop I sell in and she wanted them all to be different. That was a real wild card for me. There was black, red, chartreuse, pink, tan with a leopard seat, navy blue and sage. She loved the quirky look of all the different colors and fabric seat patterns. I don't think I'm that brave. There should be pics of them in my archived blog posts =:) Hugs, Leena

  8. Dee I share your color philosophy. Once bought a house with a red bedroom. Could not sleep for months. Luckily we redo to bedroom and were no more deprived of sleep. Over the years I found my favorite color - yellow ocher.
